heart sutra

I found Red Pine's the heart sutra, the womb of Buddhas a fantastic introduction to Tibetan Buddhism. Rather than giving me a translation, it led me to make a version—I find these words written in pencil on the inside back cover:

Gaté gaté
paragaté
parasangaté
Bodhi
Svaha

Gone gone
gone  beyond
gone completely beyond
to the other shore
Amen

Note: I don’t offer the English version as a translation, much less a "correct" one; it’s only a trace of my engagement with the sutra through Red Pine’s book.
