Haiku (maybe)

           *
old Jewish graveyard
red-brick gate
red boots dance the slabs

            *
sun-warmed creatures
impossible to catch
western fence haiku

            *
song sparrow
foundering
in goldenrod

           *
bones and fur
white
butt tufts

          *
nesting squirrels
do it
under my garage roof

           *
in my tent
the ground itself
brings the party to me

           *
puddles
on the climbing path
caked shoes

            *
birch diamonds
breathe
I stumble on the path
            *
red wing
blackbirds ring
their telephones
